The Season so Far

Rewind back to August and all Albion fans were full of hope and optimism that this could once again be Brightons year. Fast forward four months and the stark contrast couldnt be more evident.



At times its been woeful. The defence leaking goals at an unprecendented rate which hit new hights on a Tuesday night in Huddersfield, the transformation of Slade from hero to villian and McNaultys love affair with the clubs new physio. Its been a busy few months and the old adage 'Its never dull being a Brighton fan' has never been more evident.



Of course its not all been bad. Anyone who was at Southampton can relate to that. Wycombe away offered great value for money, albeit another great example of how not to defend. However, we are a club in transition after the arrival of the greatest Uraguyan import this countries seen. Companies throughtout sussex are still reeping the rewards after experiencing a mass surge in flag sales throughout November. This can be no other than Gus Poyet.Im sure given time and financial backing from the chairman we will see improvement. The general consensus is we're not a million miles from a good side and i'd go with that opinion too. He's clearly a great coach now lets hope he can transorm this into management...only time will tell. All in all its safe to say we have underachieved again this season but its a marathon and not a sprint, so lets see if the new year will bring about a turn in fortunes. I for one sincerely hope so.



Meanwhile Friday's game at Colchester is a designated Help For Hereos evening too. I hope to be there work depending and have also been asked to do a little piece for the match programme so look out for that. There will be a number of serviceman collecting money before kick-off and selling wristbands so please donate generously. It is a great cause and your support and generosity is always greatly appreciated and never taken for granted.
